Long day....

Dave's just left after driving all this way. Ok, not really. I mean, yes he did drive all this way, but we slept for a bit. Actually he slept a bit. I watched him sleep. Poor him. He was really tired. I mean, he was up since 4.30am for the stupid shit-the-bed meeting which was crap. Today's one was crap he said. Then we watched Pirates of the Caribbean 3. Gold class at Mall of the Emirates. We didn't plan to watch it gold class. We got the regular tickets and suddenly we saw a huge clan of noisy-will bes that we decided to upgrade and watch a good, pardon me, great movie at peace. I've got work tomorrow. Just a short flight. But I really cannot be arsed anymore. I feel like moving on. Don't get me wrong. I love flying. It is my passion. Ok apart from the good ( note good not great/fantastic/fabolous ) money and the many many days off, I LOVE IT!! I think it's this getting married period that makes me want to move on. Hhmmm...whatever.

Aerosmith's playing on Thursday night. I hope that I won't get called up for a long flight the day before. All of us are going. Glam this time I think. The plan was to get a limo to send us there and pickus up back. "Pink! is my favourite colour! its Krazy!!" I can really go on!!!!

Oh yes, one of my girlfriend's pregnant with her 3rd one. Hopefully everything's going well. She's a little upset that she cannot be all glamed up for my wedding. Speaking of wedding...it's time people. The clock is ticking where I will be a MRS soon!! Oh my god!! I just realised that we've still need to pick out our wedding bands!! Aaaarrrrggghhhh!!!!

My my....the world cup just ended. And what a day it was!! Ok, for those of you who are now going 'huh'? I meant the Dubai World Cup. The horse race?? And for those who now go? You? Horse race? Yes yes....I agree....I'm not much of horse fan. Basically I was only there to play dress up and retain my reputation as a 'plonkie' ( it's really not a word, it's only available on the drunkards dictionary ) hee hee

So this little missy ( as in yours truly ) went out shopping in Manchester and got me a nice little dress, a nice little ribbon-clippy thingy for ma hair and of course a matching bag!! How much? Ahh...how shall I say it? Affordable is the right word.

And so the big day came. Here was the plan. Go for proper lunch outside the field coz they only sell horrible expensive food. OK. Went to Applebees. Had myself a nice teriyaki chicken bowl. Btw, I thought that Applebees was a place where people go to have apple-pies. And they have variations of it. ( see the link - applebees = apple pies?? NVM! ) Apparently I was dead wrong. They do offer american food like chillies and TGIFridays. The only similarity....absolute no sense of humour from the staff. Steve did crack some horrible jokes, I was holding back my tears and they(the staff) just looked at me like I'm some kind of an idiot. Sad, but true( for them not me being the idiot!!) ...blah blah blah.... cut the story short, got there, Irish village was already starting to get packed. Couldn't get a seat. Looked around and I saw one. Good spot too. Not in some dingey corner. Ok, shut up now.

Somehow I manage to survive til the end. How? No fucking clue! As soon as the last race ended, we all trotted to our favourite karaoke joint. And then I can't remember what happened next. And I don't want to.....Next morning, woke up aching everywhere. Ouch! Head - ouch! Blah....

There is this game now that my cousin's friend started. And now, thanks to Nadia, I am now thinking, worriedly whether people will still look at me right. Well, not really worried. I mean, EVERYbody's got their peeves rite. Rite??

These are the rules: Each player of this game starts out by giving 6 weird things about themselves. People who get tagged need to write in a blog of their own 6 weird things as well as state the rules clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Here it goes:

1. I sleep with my eyes half close. My inside source told me that the whites of my eyeballs are clearly visible. I dunno whether to blame on genes or my lenses. But there are some nights where I have scared Dave off, or make Dave talk to himself. hee hee
2. There are days where I don't shower. Those days are called DAYS OFF. It will probably happen that I come back late night from a flight, wake up say at noon, eat lunch, stay on the net for HOURS til really it is bedtime. Oh and btw, I don't think I have BO. Ok, everyone's got BO. But I know mine DOES NOT smell like those who's got really bad onion pitt smell, you know what i'm on about. On my defense, I have the house to myself!! So, who's gonna know??
3. I only cook, do laundry and ironing when I'm in Sharjah. When I'm with my darling Dave. Period. Otherwise, I call for delivery and send all clothes to the laundry shop downstairs.
4. My side of the bed is call "The land of Narnia". Because it's piled high with pillows like mountains and oh, cold. And we sleep on Dave's side of the bed til he tells me to fuck off!! hee hee
5. Sometimes I like to eat my scrambled eggs with maple syrup and chilli sauce. Really fattening but really yummy.
6. I have a problem. I burp and fart in public. Hee hee.

...bacK tO plannINg the wEDing...

It was the Dubai Desert Rock Festival last weekend. Ok, I'm sure you know that I am true blue RnB gal, but see, Dave was involved in that gig. As the entertainment director. As one of the gang dropped out last minute, Steve became the DJ and I was the one finding people to take part in the contests. Oh btw, Steve did a brilliant job!! Did I enjoy the gig? Ok, there were some groups whom I did not know. But Prodigy, Incubus and some bloke from Led Zapplin were there performing. I tell you, watching them from backstage was something else. The adrenalin was really up there!! They were like ssssooo close!! I did take loads of pictures. However, the camera is now in Barcelona where Dave is there now doing a hypno show as I am typing this. So when we meet up next in a coupla days, you will get to see the pictures. Although, I have a duty to remind you that most of the pictures will be from a side view. Remember, I was backstage!! Ddduuuhh!!! hee hee

Well, I am actually due for a flight, but got a call from the office that the flight will be delayed for 2 hours! So, here I am all ready and stuff, got nothing to do!! So I thought I'd blog. Well, not that I really have nothing to do. I have to study this certain aircraft type as I have a refreshers on Wednesday but I can't be arsed!! I will do that tomorrow after I wake up. I promise!!!

Everyone's doing great, thank you for asking. Now that I have not thought bout the wedding for 2 weeks, I got back to the preparations coupla days ago, after the rock gig. Mom went to the venue and she really likes it. A lot!! Still more bumps here and there but I'm sure that all will end well. Thanks to my dear friend Shima who is helping me with stuff in Malaysia. Can't wait for the reception to be over and then concentrate on the one here in Dubai.

....Back aLone agaiN.....

And so my cousin left earlier than expected. We got news some really early morning that her mom fell whilst in the kitchen and she has a minor stroke. She's ok now. Well, she's still in hospital, now having to go through 3 weeks of physiotherapy....

And so I went to the Manila trip. 3 nights there. Did the usual. Ate like never eaten before, partied, like really getting down and dirtie!!, shopped til we dropped and ending it all with a well-deserved 3 hour spa!! Nice life huh? Tell you the truth, I will miss that once I'm married. One of the perks of flying!!

I don't really have much to say...

Oh yes!! I need to introduce to you, Belle. She's our new lass. We adopted her from K9. Really cute. Will show you her picture soon. Her new toy? The mirror!! I'm serious. She can't understand the concept of reflection. So she will sit in front of our full length mirrow, growling at herself, well she's really thinking there's another dog out there, even to the extent of barking!! Oh how much we laughed, me and Dave. TJ's still the grumpy old dog. I've not seen them for a week now. But according to my source, they're doing just fine. Can't wait to see them. Off tomorrow, for 4 days!!! cool huh? Another perks of flying!! But still have to stay here for the next coupla days..need to complete my driving class.

Dave's off to Barcelona soon. He's rushing off to the airport, after his gig at the desert rock. Can't really remember how many days he'll be off for. A little sad, for now. But I've got him for the rest of my life so I really can't complain.

I'm uploading more pictures as you are reading. But it's taking too long. I need to wake up at 6am tom. I think I'm gonna skip it for tonight and continue tom, after my class. Tough. You guys juz have to wait. hee hee. okay...sleep soon...

Life goes on....

Valentine's Day over now. It's become such a hyped-out event where people spend 2 even 3 times more on that day for their partner. Flowers, chocolate, card and a present. That's just the basic. For a romantic meal, restaurants mark up their regular price, ok so they call it a special valentines dinner, up to 30%!! Just to show that you are being loved?

That doesn't mean that I didn't get anything from Dave. Course I did, the night before. I was meant to be in class on Valentines day, but I called sick for that and Dave had to work. It was a last minute change. So there, I still celebrate it, only smartly. I got a card, flowers and a hot-water bottle teddy bear for me to bring overseas and keep me warm. Nice huh? I loved it. Dave got a card, a David Hasselhof biography and a power-point remote. He always wanted that. He love it!! Oh oh, and long long cuddles.

So there. Life goes on now.

The moment has arrived.....

It is finally here! For 3 years, we have been waiting for this moment. We have slogged, we have suffered, we have endured the pain, the tiredness, the lack of proper sleep! Finally the results have come. They now have published it in black and white that WE are now recognised! This is what they promise

• a higher basic pay
• an allowance for us overseas
• a 4 year plan for our career path

However, my fellow peeps, lets not get our hopes up too high! For we have been let down once too many. We shall wait, again. We shall see, again. Will we be disapointed once more?

Kuala Lumpur

Full House

The reason I posted this picture was simply because I like this picture alot!! That's all!! Anyway, my cousin's coming over this february for a coupla weeks. She left her old job, decided she needed a break before she embarks on her new job. I'll be meeting her in Kuala lumpur and will be bringing her back. At the same time, my flatmate's future mom-in-law is also coming over with her current husband and step son from Sweden!! It will be a full house!! We'll manage...we have to!!!

I'm off to Kuala Lumpur tomorrow for 2 nitghts there. Meeting Shima and starting my wedding preparations and the best part....Dave's coming along!! It will be his first time to Malaysia. A shame it's only 2 nights, but I think he will enjoy it like he always has. It is already a full flight but with my 'connections' I think he will be on the flight, upgraded guaranteed!!

Right then, have to jump into the shower before Dave gets back. Been stinky poo the whole day.

My New Disease

I went out to re-do my nails for my flight tomorrow. See what happened was that I blotched my newly painted nails with this old nail hardener while I was in New York. I really don't know what happened or what did I do, but my nails, well not my nails but the varnish, ok nail polish, all went bubbly plus some peeled off....Ok, to cut the story short, I went to re-paint my nails. Then I went shoe shopping. You know, females love shoes. I bought 4 pairs.

• Do I need them? Yes!
• Do I love shoes? I suddenly develop the llluuurrrvvveee for them!
• Can I really afford new shoes? Well....I am getting married...I really need the money..
• Do I care what you think? I shall not answer that!!

So there...I now proudly declare that I have a new featish for shoes...like bags!

I can't wait to use them. I can't yet. I'm off to another freezing-cold country, Paris. However, I have decided not to go out there. I am going to bring my laptop to watch new movies which I bought and have yet to watch. Crank and Rocky Balboa!! Oh yes and Snakes on a plane! Yup that will keep me occupied in Paris.

I know I know, some of you are going " What?? You are not going out in Paris??!!! You nuts??!!!" Well, darlings, I have been there. Besides, it's too short to really go out and enjoy the beautiful French land. Plus, it will be too cold. Ok ok excuses excuses...well, I have to keep creating them.

I picked up Dave's ticket to Kuala Lumpur today. I can't wait. I will finally be able to get my wedding stuff/preparations started. Can't wait!!

Oh yah, we're going start to fly Australia soon in 2 months. Don't know where in Australia yet. Hope its via KL or Bangkok and not direct. That will be another 14 hour route if so. I hope it's either Melbourne or Brisbane. Can hook up with my cousin whom I've not seen in 6 years!!

My Life...changes everyday

The office called me bout a coupla hours ago to tell me that I'm off to New York instead of London Heathrow tomorrow. At first I thought "Nnnnooooo!!!". But they gave me extra 2 days off after. So why am I sad? Well, you see, when you first get your monthly roster, you already make plans in your mind what you wanna do, where you wanna go downroute. See the plan was to get the usual magazines, which I terribly terribly miss (ok you get magazines from JFK as well but I prefer UK magazines then them American ones no offense I just do. Besides, I miss reading Total Film & UK Glamour). Plus I thought I'd go see what Primark has to offer. Sometimes you get great sales and the jim jams...so cheap and good. And I thought...well never mind. Then again, I do know some people gagging to go to New York. I took a look at the crew for tomorrow's flight...I might pester them to accompany me to Manhattan!!

I went to see this play today at the Madinat Theatre. Thanks to Carl, we went to watch the One man Star Wars Trilogy. It's all about Star Wars ( ddduuuhhh), all 3 ( again dduuhh ie trilogy) explained or rather performed by one man....why am I explaining? Isn't it a little self explanatory? Silly me. I thought it was a little pants, you need to really like Star Wars to get it. And the crowd didn't really get it, the poor man had to crack some jokes to get the crowd going. So, it is really just ok. Nothing fantastic.

So there, that was my weekend. Off to New York (refer above) then back to my darling's arms. Can't wait.

Happy New Year!!!

Wah heh!!! It is now the first month of 2007 people!!! I have a feeling that you had a fantastic countdown, made quite a few resolutions which I am pretty sure that they might not be fulfilled til next year!! Hey, we are only humans!! As for me, I was gonna get a fantastic countdown, so I thought! Why not right? I was called out for a Bangkok flight on New Years eve. So what if the fight was full? So what if they became demanding? We didn't care, we as in the whole crew. We knew that we will have a ball in Bangkok! Everyone was gonna come down to the party place, get pissed and dance the night away!! So we made plans. Even the Thai crew. They said they will party with us, then head home after. So the plan was, 10.30pm at the lobby.

I tell you, we were so disappointed when we heard the news. Bombs in Bangkok, 2 killed!! Immediately we knew that the plans will change. We were strongly encouraged not to leave the hotel. Dave was really adamant that I should better in the hotel. But he was really nice to say, you decide babe.You know what the situation better than me. I will back you up whatever you decide. Aaaawwww!!!

And so we met up in the lobby. Stayed there comtemplating for an hour, should we, should we not? One by one, the thai girls say, I'm not going. My parents not allowing me to go. And so we were down with 6. Even the flight deck crew didn't show up!! I was sssooo ready to stay in bed, but I was motivated my the group of turkish crew saying, come on!!

The decision: I went! But for only a 2 hours. Ok! 3! There was no countdown. Next thing we knew was it was already midnight. It was jam packed. The security was tight there. The music! Aahh!! The music....that was fantastic. R N B! My style! heheheh

So there. That was how I celebrated my new year. I got a lot of text from the gals. Sorry I couldn't reply. I WAS IN BANGKOK!!!

I wish that just because the year started not really well, read the news people, it will get better and will be a great year for everyone! For me it is! I'm getting married!! Which by the way, I better start the ball rolling.

I got the flu. I got it from one of the gals who were flying with me to New York. I feel shit. I don't like being sick. Don't think anyone does. I have to go back to the doc to get more sick days off.

Merry Xmas

Remember I told you that I was hoping that the company'd give me a day off for xmas? Guess what?? They didn't!! What a surprise! They pull me out for a New York flight instead and I will only be back in sandland at 11pm on Christmas day!! *weep*

I just made a conference call to both Dave and Peter and Eugenie. That was something experience. It was a second slow to receive but when you have 4 people talk a the same time...hhhmmm, you can imagine the chaos huh? Peter's teasing bout the christmas lunch Eugenie's gonna have and that made me salivate!! I can still taste the turkey and the cabbage thingy she made. Yummy!!! Aaaarrrggghhh!!! Can never find that anywhere else!! I'm sure I will get to eat it again soon eh?

And so the plan for me is to hit the showers soon, get some free breakie downstairs before off shopping for Dave. What will I get??? Decisions, decisions!! I tell you, it's a little tricky when your partner's already have everything you can ever think or rather afford. hehehe. Anyway, I'm sure I will find something he'll love. Worse comes to worse, I'm sure he'll enjoy opening... ah huh...I have to stop there....

Mom's off to haj today. She's so happy her wish came true, I am too.

Right then, shower, food and shopping!!! Ain't life wonderful?

Back!!!

Hooray!! I am back in my beloved arms after 9 long days away!! Hey, not that I am complaining of the beautiful scenery that I enjoy in Brussels....it's just that it would have been better if he was there as well..

Well, updates updates...lets see

• I still don't know what they're put me on for on Christmas Day!! Hopefully a day off!!
• I've been nominated to attend PMIS. Like you, when I first read it I thought what the hell is PMIS!! Post mortem instructor security?! Pre....well, it is actually Personal Management Inflight System!! Thanks for that! I had to call to find out! I mean, when you put an invite to people, perhaps it would have been easier for us if you actually don't put short forms. I mean.... you know what I mean!!
• Oooh ooohh!! Shweta's getting engaged!! Yeeaaahhh!!! I'm sssooo happy for her!! I think this is like an outbreak!! I know sssooo many friends getting that ring on the finger next year!!! I hope that the rest will be get it as well... you know who you are!!! We better make sure that we don't have the ceremony on the same dates....That would be bad....

Doing Christmas shopping today..still don't know what to get for my honey bunny ( he will tell me to stop it soon !! hahahah!! )

Brugge

Went to Brugge, pronounced Bruj, today. It was nice, I enjoyed it. Brugge is a little town 45min train ride from Brussels. We set off at 8am! I checked the weather before we left, 3 degrees. I hoped that it would be warmer when the sun is up, it was. Unfortunately, at most places the tall buildings were blocking my favourite planet.

When we got to the train station, we were early by 30min. The first train that heads that way was at 9am, so we had breakkie first. Ah, morning coffee is always nice innit? We first went to the ice exhibition, mostly all the sculptures were inspired by the cartoon Ice Age. The temperature inside? -5 degrees. Braving myself, went in, snapped all the pictures quickly then headed out for a nice warm tomato soup to warm myself up again. People!! My fingers and toes were numb. So numb it hurt!! Perhaps we were not really dressed properly for that. I mean you really need thermal gloves and boots don't ya? I would!!

Then we went to venture the town. I tell you, today was our lucky day. Firstly, the train ticket would normally be 24euros was 7 today. The busses were free as well!! They say it's because today's Sunday?! Well....normally or back where I'm from, on weekends the price would be double!! HHmmm, Europe...funny huh?

So, we walked and walked and walked and walked thanks to Mustafa who became our tour guide today. Me and Ting Ting were counting the seconds as they pass by. The moment he said, ok finish! huh!!! aren't we relieved!! What do you expect? From 8am to numb toes til 5pm!!!

We slept in the train back. The rest decided to head straight back to the hotel to sleep. Not me, I told them that if I sleep now, I will be awake at 3am!! What the f@$k would I do at that time in the morning? Sssooo, Kannatikarn and myself decided to go for dinner. She wanted some roughage in her. Me? More Mussels!!! Yup, had the whole plate to myself, mussels with melted cheese in garlic butter sauce. Yumm yumm yumm...

So, I'm finally back in the hotel room, time check 9.46pm Brussels time. I skyped Dave but he did not reply. Still busy mingling with the important stars in India I suppose!! ( huh! you wanna know more right? can't tell you now!! hee hee )

Will call my honey bunny ( god he'll kill me if he knows I call him that ) again before setting my nice warm bath. Right, I hope you will enjoy the pikkies I took,if you don't ....you need to ask? You know the link.
